South Africa produces over 800 000 matriculants every year and every year it gets harder to get a place in a university and college of your choice because of the increase in Competition. It is no longer enough to just meet the minimum requirements. A tertiary qualification will more than double your chances of getting a job, and your best chance of getting there is with good marks. Upgrading your results isn't an admission of failure, you did not fail as a matter of fact most people who upgrade tend to be matriculants who did not get the marks they are looking for or feel like they deserve not necessarily people who failed. Upgrading your marks can also save you from the stress of feeling like you qualify to a lot of courses but never getting admitted into any course. If you have decided that you want to study further you cannot take gap years back to back without even attempting to improve your marks but thinking that somehow competition for places will decrease and the institution you are applying to will lower their entry requirements and this time you will get in.
The main reason matriculants choose not to upgrade is because they think it is hard, and in all honesty that is true. But certain subjects are harder than others, rewriting English is not the same as rewriting mathematics and you will need to approach them differently, with hard work it is possible to achieve your desired marks in both. If you did not do well during grade 12 with proper study materials and a teacher you need to understand that preparing to rewrite by yourself will be hard even with all the study material you can find online. Many students who rewrite subjects like mathematics and physical sciences do not do well. If you have the same habits that you had back when you were a student and study exactly the same way then you are likely to get the same results. During the program you will receive free study materials like our own compiled textbooks, study guides and past papers for subjects that we cover.
Subjects we help with
We mainly focus on three subjects: Mathematics, Physical sciences, life sciences but you can sign up even if you are upgrading other subjects as there will be other students who are upgrading the same subjects as you and could help you if you ever get stuck plus volunteers who may offer free tutoring for those subjects.
Classes and tutoring
There will be weekly live classes for all the subjects and individual plus group tutoring to ensure that everyone is at the same level after every week. There will also be daily assessments (home work) that you will be required to work through on your own. You will have access to your tutors and other students to ask for assistance where necessary. We will work really hard to ensure that everyone gets the marks that they are targeting.
